Scott Kidder is the Vice President of Operations for leading digital publisher Gawker Media, overseeing global operations, including finance and analysis, legal, people and culture, facilities, special projects, and whatever else he sticks his nose in. Most recently, he served as Director of Editorial Operations, overseeing the daily operations of the 70+ person Editorial department as well as functional areas like Editorial Marketing and Social Media, Editorial-focused Business Development and Community. With more than 90 million global readers per month, Gawker Media is comprised of the eponymous Gawker, gadget sensation Gizmodo, and other properties that are frequently name-checked by major media ranging from The New York Times to Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show.” One of the company’s first non-editorial hires, Scott has been with Gawker since 2005.
Scott also serves as Business Lead for music discovery site The Hype Machine, leading finance, legal, operations and monetization efforts.
Scott was named to Forbes’ Media 30 Under 30 in both 2011 and 2012, as well as 2011’s Business Insider’s Silicon Alley 100.
Scott is an avid traveler and a graduate of New York University.
