Two Excellent Books
Two great reads I’ve stumbled upon recently:
- The Company: A great spy novel tracing the CIA from the end of the Second World War to the Gulf War. I’ve always been a fan of the genre, but this is the first novel I’ve read that reflects American foreign policy in the 20th century as a continuing narrative. At first, the novel’s 890 pages were a bit intimidating, but well worth it. This was especially fun to read while en route to Berlin.
- Next: For some reason, I’ve never been a huge fan of traditional science fiction. I can’t stand Star Trek, I don’t really even like Star Wars, and I’ve never seen an episode of Battlestar Gallatica. But when I ran out of books to read at the beach, I picked this up. It’s a fascinating look at genertic engineering — and far more believable than Jurassic Park.

great book. TNT made it into a miniseries. Read the book first. The miniseries kind of sucked.
